Residential Childcare Support Worker

Location: Newport

Contract: Shift Pattern - ad-hoc cover

Salary: Unqualified - £12.79 per hour, Qualified - £13.11 per hour plus sleep in shifts when required

At Polaris Community, we are committed to providing a holistic approach to childcare. Our residential home is dedicated to supporting young people with challenging behaviour, and we are seeking a Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with young people with challenging behaviour, providing a high standard of childcare to help them achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Be flexible, resilient, honest, and well-organised, with a commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Have a full manual driving license and be willing to work towards the fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified).
  • Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintaining clear and neat records.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, be a positive team player, and have the ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people.
  • Complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements.
