Reader Volunteer
Location: Aldershot (Hampshire)
Time Commitment: Flexible
We are seeking a volunteer to form a meaningful connection with someone we support in one of our homes in Aldershot (Hampshire). The volunteer will engage in conversation, read the newspaper aloud, and provide companionship by visiting them in their home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a rapport with the individual and engage in conversation
- Read the newspaper aloud and discuss current events
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Visit the individual in their home on a regular basis
Requirements:
- Kind, empathetic, and friendly
- Good sense of humour and ability to engage in conversation
- Punctual and reliable
- Interest in reading and current events
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
