Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Blue Moon Recruitment. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our clients to ensure the profitability of allocated projects. Your responsibilities will include undertaking full quantity surveying/cost management on projects, including pre-contract tenders, cost planning, and contract administration contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide QS support for all projects within the Midlands region
* Attend customer meetings
* Understand current and new contracts within the Midlands region
* Highlight and mitigate risks on Midlands projects

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Work with the commercial, operations, and in-house Design Team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
* Assist in the preparation of initial budgets and cost plans
* Support the preparation of tender packages, analyze and compare on quotations received, make recommendations for appointment
* Complete sub-contract documentation in accordance with company procedures
* Manage work packages from appointment through to final account including certifying payments and issuing the appropriate notices as required by the sub-contract
* Monitor works packages against budget, assessing variation claims and preparing reports for Client
* Submitting timely requests for payment, agreement of these with Client's representative where appropriate and ensuring payments are received in accordance with agreed timescales
* Monitor project progress (in conjunction with Contracts Manager) and issuing appropriate notices to Client
* Internal cost reporting
* Attend customer meetings to present solutions and discuss proposals
* Ensure that all administrative tasks are carried out efficiently
* Ensure familiarisation with best practice and industry guidance and implement as appropriate
* Support and promote a team culture and company values

Key Working Relationships:

Internal - Responsible to Regional Manager. Liaising closely with colleagues in commercial, business development, design, and operations teams.
External - Key customer contacts

Requirements:

* Experience as a Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor
* Exposure working on major projects for Tier 1 / Tier 2 Main Contractors
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar would be advantageous however not essential
* UK Driving license
