About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our Cost Management team, you will be responsible for providing cost management and contract administration services on a range of projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for managing project costs from inception to completion, preparing cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities, and undertaking tender analysis and contractor recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project costs from inception to completion.
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities.
  • Undertake tender analysis and contractor recommendations.
  • Provide advice on contract management and procurement strategies.
  • Conduct site visits and valuations.
  • Manage change control and assess variations.
  • Prepare final accounts and oversee project closure.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Requirements:

  • First Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Already having achieved Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards the final stages of achieving it is preferred.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying roles, ideally within consultancy environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and if possible, NEC 4.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in cost management software and Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

The salary range for this role is £45,000-£60,000 depending on level of candidate e.g. Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
