Intervention Tutor

We are seeking a skilled Intervention Tutor to work directly with children and young people in supporting them to meet academic criteria. The role involves encouraging pupils outside of mainstream settings.
Job Summary:The Intervention Tutor will provide informative, engaging sessions face-to-face with children at their residential home. This may be alongside a school or social workers to support their pupil with alternative provision until a full school place is confirmed.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan resources around the child's needs, focusing on developing their knowledge in core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
- Deliver engaging and creative lessons to get pupils back up to speed in their learning.
- Manage and implement different behaviour strategies and coping mechanisms to meet the pupil's needs.
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Range of behaviour management and coping mechanisms.
- Able to plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular sessions.
- Apply skills to get pupils' education back up to speed.
- Check that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and provide feedback.
- Desirable: SEN experience, any additional languages.
