About this role

We are looking for an Intervention Tutor to support children and young people in meeting their academic criteria. This role involves working directly with pupils outside of mainstream settings, encouraging them to engage in learning and develop their skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions to support pupils' academic growth, focusing on core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies and coping mechanisms to support pupils with behaviour needs.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, social workers, and other professionals to provide a comprehensive support package for pupils.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils' progress, providing feedback and guidance to support their achievement of desired learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons to support pupils' academic growth.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and coping mechanisms, with the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on supporting pupils' needs.
  • Desirable: experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), or proficiency in additional languages.
