Healthcare Support Worker Trainee

We are seeking a Trainee Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Leigh House, an acute adolescent psychiatric service providing inpatient treatment for young people between the ages of 12 to 18 years.
As a Trainee Healthcare Support Worker, you will learn key skills such as taking basic observations, explaining treatment, and updating patient records. You will also provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, and work individually and as part of a team to support registered Nurses and other healthcare practitioners in providing patient care.
Our Trainee Healthcare Support Worker development programme is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in this role. You will receive dedicated training and supervised shifts, and have the opportunity to progress your career within the NHS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking basic observations and explaining treatment to patients
- Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families
- Working individually and as part of a team to support registered Nurses and other healthcare practitioners
- Monitoring patients' physical and mental health and keeping accurate records

Requirements:
- No prior healthcare experience necessary
