Job Overview


The Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Respiratory Physiologist to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a leading specialist paediatric centre with an international reputation in several areas.


Main Responsibilities



  • Perform basic and specialised lung function tests without supervision
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control procedures are met
  • Assist with training and supervision of less experienced staff
  • Participate in the development of new procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality patient care

Requirements



  • Undergraduate degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • Registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCP & S Glasgow) or equivalent
  • Experience working within respiratory physiology, completing assessments of competence in respiratory physiology measurements
  • Ability to interpret basic lung function and sleep tests
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
