About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Respiratory Physiologist to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our respiratory physiology team, you will be responsible for performing a range of basic and specialized lung function tests without supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing basic and specialized lung function tests, including spirometry and plethysmography
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including lung function machines and sleep studies equipment
  • Providing technical support and training to less experienced staff
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians (RCP)
  • Experience working in respiratory physiology, including performing assessments of competence in respiratory physiology measurements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
