About The Role

A new opportunity has arisen in the Technology leadership team, where you will lead, ensure quality, set ways of working and manage the organisation's engineering department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and vision to guide the engineering and quality teams in developing cutting-edge, innovative solutions and products.
  • Horizon-scan for future technologies and engineering best practices, ensuring these are appropriately embedded in MO.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to align engineering efforts with business and strategic objectives.
  • Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Drive a strong focus on software testing, code reviews, and documentation to deliver reliable and high-quality products.
  • Oversee the technical delivery of projects within MO, bringing together devops, build and testing in projects.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between engineering teams and other departments within the organisation.
  • Work closely with product teams and key stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure engineering solutions meet business needs.
  • Prepare and manage the Engineering department budget, controlling expenses, and optimising spending while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the Engineering team, ensuring team members have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles.
About You

We are looking for a senior engineering leader with a strong track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. You will have a strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development and engineering principles, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

You will be a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to align engineering efforts with the company's overall vision and goals. You will also have a proven understanding of agile methodologies and product development life cycle, as well as experience with scaling and optimising engineering processes to support growth.
