Make a Difference in the Lives of Vulnerable Children

As a Senior Social Worker in our Long Term Social Care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children and young people who have had a difficult start in life. Our team of experienced social workers works closely with families to provide support and guidance, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work with children and young people who are at risk of harm or have experienced trauma, providing them with the support and guidance they need to overcome their challenges.
  • You will work closely with families to develop and implement plans that meet their needs and promote positive outcomes.
  • You will be responsible for assessing and managing risk, ensuring that children and young people are protected from harm.
  • You will work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to ensure that children and young people receive the support and services they need.

Requirements:

  • You will be a qualified social worker with relevant registration to practice and a good understanding of asset and strengths-based approaches to social work.
  • You will be a problem-solver, confident about making important decisions, underpinned by a genuine passion to work collaboratively with children, young people, and families to meet their goals and aspirations.
  • You will welcome challenge and embrace change, with a proven ability to provide mentoring support to lesser-experienced colleagues and deputise in the absence of the Team Manager.
  • You will have the experience to enable you to hold more complex cases, such as court cases and higher-end child protection.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post. You will be required to travel widely to a range of locations within the Authority, so you must have a current driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle insured for business use.
