Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Long Term Social Care team in South Gloucestershire. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring vulnerable children and young people receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a qualified social worker with relevant registration to practice and a good understanding of asset-based approaches to social work. You will be working closely with families, children, and young people to identify their needs and provide tailored support to achieve their goals.

  • You will be part of a dedicated team undertaking statutory social work in child protection, children in need, and looked-after children. Your expertise will help shape and deliver high-quality services that prioritize the well-being of children and families.
  • Your passion for collaborative working and dedication to innovation will enable you to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
  • With experience in deputizing for team managers and providing mentoring support to colleagues, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the growth of the team.
  • As a senior social worker, you will hold more complex cases, including court proceedings, and work closely with other agencies to ensure effective collaboration and support.

About the Team

The Long Term Social Care team operates within the Public Law outline and Care Proceedings framework, working closely with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of services. With a strong culture of continuous improvement, we encourage creativity and innovative thinking to drive excellent practice.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £38,880 - £43,857 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and access to further training and development opportunities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized qualification in social work and relevant registration to practice
  • A proven track record of experience in statutory social work, particularly in child protection and care proceedings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-agency team, contributing to effective case management and service delivery
