NHS Scotland is transitioning to a 37-hour working week, with no reduction in pay, from April 2024. This change will also apply to part-time staff. This job posting reflects the new working hours, but some service areas may require temporary adjustments, which will be compensated accordingly.

This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership or record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Physiotherapy Team in the RIE. The successful candidates will work alongside Physiotherapists within the Cardiothoracic Surgery or Medicine of the Elderly Physiotherapy Teams.

Candidates should demonstrate experience in teaching prescribed exercise programs, gait re-education, general rehabilitation skills, and administrative tasks. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience working in an acute hospital setting is highly desirable. Previous experience as a physiotherapy assistant or within the physiotherapy profession is beneficial. Applicants must demonstrate highly competent computer-based tasks and administrative duties. There is an expectation to work on the physiotherapy weekend rota (1:8).
