Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Planning Radiographer/Dosimetrist to join our Radiotherapy and Proton Therapy Physics team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a clinical background with good knowledge of relevant anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Main Duties

  1. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing photon and proton treatment plans for the UCLH case mix, including treatment complex sarcoma, head and neck, neurological, and paediatric cancers.
  2. They will participate in multidisciplinary discussions to produce the best treatment options for patients.
  3. The postholder will support the Senior Dosimetrist in ensuring treatment planning pathways are delivered in a timely fashion across the radiotherapy and proton therapy services.
  4. They will also support the development of new and existing techniques, including the production of standard operating procedures and training competencies for staff.

Person Specification

  • BSc Therapeutic Radiography or Diploma of the College of Radiographers D.C.R.T.
  • State registration or eligible.

Experience

  • Knowledge of varied radiotherapeutic techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Treatment Planning experience.
  • Experience of 3-D Treatment Planning systems.

Personal and People Development

  • Evidence of Continuing Personal Development (CPD).
  • Willingness to attend courses and keep abreast of developments in the service.
