Role/Department

The Operational Resilience Business Continuity Management (BCM) Team Manager will support the Operational Resilience Central Team and Practice Lead in coordinating Business Continuity Management across Business Units and Corporate Functions.

This role will develop and implement Northern Trust's Operational Resilience Framework and policies relevant to BCM, enhancing the Firm's resilience and enabling it to plan for and respond to significant business disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business continuity requirements and develop robust recovery strategies to prioritize service continuity.
  • Implement and embed the Operational Resilience framework/Business Continuity requirements across Business Units and Corporate Functions.
  • Develop and maintain Operational Resiliency plans to facilitate the recovery of key resources, people, processes, technology, facilities, and vendors.
  • Understand business exposures and potential business impacts.
  • Report on Business Continuity Risks.
  • Provide management reporting on recovery capabilities and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with the Non-Financial Risk function and Business Continuity stakeholders to develop and maintain Business Continuity strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Identify and solve complex operational problems, leveraging resources within or outside the Operational Resiliency department.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements, internal policies, and controls related to operational resilience and business continuity.

Skills/Experience:

  • Substantial experience in Business Continuity Management/Operational Resiliency.
  • Manages related teams, sets team priorities, and allocates resources to align with business objectives.
  • Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as ISO22301 and FCA/PRA/FFIEC/BoE.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity Management technology tools, specifically in relation to Fusion.
  • Management skills, proven stakeholder engagement experience, engaging and inclusive management style, with experience of managing Business Continuity/Operational Resiliency/Incident Management/operational processes/risk management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functions to achieve measurable results.
