Learning Support Assistant

Academics Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a mainstream primary school based in Caversham.
This is a long-term opportunity requiring a commitment to working on a 1:1 basis with the child for at least the rest of this academic year. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with ASD, particularly with ABA therapy, and be able to adapt their approach as needed.
The successful applicant will possess strong behaviour management skills, enabling them to work effectively with children who may display challenging behaviour. In addition to SEN experience, they should have previous support work within a school or other child-related experience, demonstrating their ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one support to the child
- Assisting with small group work
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote the child's learning and socialisation
- Maintaining accurate records of the child's progress
We offer a competitive salary of £85 per day, reflecting the importance we place on attracting highly skilled and experienced candidates.
