About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our Macmillan support team as a Cancer Care Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Macmillan Survivorship Manager to deliver exceptional patient care and support throughout the cancer pathway.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients to ensure they receive tailored support and information.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with the community, including social prescribers, to ensure services meet user needs.
  • Supervise and support Macmillan volunteers, participating in their recruitment, induction, and training.
  • Provide individualized information and support to patients and carers, adapting to their needs and preferences.
  • Coordinate and deliver support sessions, ensuring a high level of service quality.
  • Ensure accurate cataloging and display of information materials, maintaining a well-stocked center.
  • Work across sites, delivering an equal service to all clients.
  • Collaborate with the wider MDT, including cancer care coordinators, clinical nurse specialists, and social prescribers.
  • Maintain up-to-date Holistic Needs Assessment folders.
  • Manage workload independently, without supervision.
