In addition to supporting our population with lifestyle approaches to weight loss, you will also be supporting others in the development of their psychological skills.
As a psychologically led service, we focus on lifestyle behaviour change, in addition to new digital and group offers to patients.
A key part of the role is inputting one day into University Hospitals Derby where you will be involved with treating complex referrals and patients considering bariatric surgery.
Responsibilities:
* Developing supervision skills when supporting our weight management advisors with their core weight loss messaging.
* Providing consultation to other non-psychology colleagues and teaching and training skills.
* Fulfilling travel requirements for the post, travel between bases during the working day.
Requirements:
* Good honours degree in Psychology. Eligibility for Graduate membership of BPS.
* Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer as accredited by the B. Those coming through other practitioner psychology postgraduate routes must have equivalent accreditation with a professional body.
* Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist and entitled to use the title 'Clinical Psychologist' and be chartered with the BPS or a full member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists UK. Registration with an equivalent professional body is required for those coming through alternative practitioner psychology routes.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes, and increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
