Are you a caring and dedicated individual? Mencap is on the lookout for enthusiastic Care Assistants to become part of our remarkable team.

As a Care Assistant, you will have the chance to significantly impact the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Your role will involve assisting with everyday activities, including meal preparation and financial management, as well as accompanying the individuals you support during outings.

This role is focused on community care, providing assistance to individuals in their own residences.

Responsibilities of a Care Assistant:

  • Encouraging Independence: Assist individuals with budgeting, bill payments, household chores, organizing appointments, and preparing nutritious meals.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Help individuals comprehend their surroundings and promote positive social interactions.
  • Community Engagement: Support individuals in accessing and participating in local community activities to enhance life skills and personal identity.
  • Personal Care: Aid individuals in their daily routines, which may include prompting medication intake and assisting with bathing and hygiene needs. Note that not all Care Assistant roles involve extensive personal care.

Contract Options:

  • Part-time hours available.

Shift Patterns:

Our services operate 24/7, and we prepare schedules at least four weeks in advance to allow for personal planning.

  • Day Shifts: Between 07:00 AM - 10:00 PM
  • Waking Night Shifts: 10:00 PM - 07:00 AM
