Mencap is on the lookout for empathetic and committed individuals to join our remarkable team as Care Assistants.

In this role, you will have the chance to significantly impact the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of daily activities, such as assisting with meal preparation, managing budgets, and accompanying the individuals you support on outings.

This role involves community-based care, providing assistance to individuals in their own residences.

Key Qualifications:

A sincere desire to assist others. A love for cooking. Strong communication abilities and the capacity to foster meaningful connections. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive and understanding demeanor towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Responsibilities of a Care Assistant:

Promoting Independent Living – assisting with financial management, household chores, scheduling appointments, and preparing nutritious meals. Communication and Relationship Building – helping individuals comprehend their surroundings and encouraging positive social interactions. Community Engagement - aiding individuals in accessing and participating in local activities and events to enhance life skills and personal expression. Personal Care - supporting individuals in their daily routines, which may include prompting medication intake and assisting with hygiene tasks. Note that not all Care Assistant positions require extensive personal care duties.

Employment Options: Part-time positions available.

Shift Patterns:

Our services operate around the clock, with rotas prepared well in advance to accommodate your personal and social commitments.

Day Shifts: Between 07:00am - 10:00pm Night Shifts: 10:00pm - 07:00am
