About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician to join our Community Paediatric team in Newham. As a Community Paediatrician, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive community paediatric services to children and young people in East London.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive community paediatric service
  • Manage and lead clinical supervision, management supervision, and pathway leadership
  • Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Current full UK GMC registration and Licence to Practise
  • Postgraduate degree in related child health or medical speciality
  • DCH, MBA, or other diploma or higher degree in a relevant field
Professional Training
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Community Child Health or Paediatrics
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
  • At least 2 years General Professional Training in Paediatrics and 2 years Higher Specialist Training or equivalent clinical experience in Community Paediatrics
Clinical Knowledge
  • Extensive experience of working in a multidisciplinary Child Development Team
  • Competent use of Griffiths III or other similar developmental assessment tool
  • Experience in managing children with complex neurological and developmental problems
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to express complex medical issues in lay terms
  • Ability to empathise with people from different backgrounds and demonstrate cultural competency
Personal or Other Skills
  • Decision making and judgement, breadth of thinking, and initiative
  • Adaptability and flexibility in accordance with service needs
  • Ability to operate under pressure and cope with setbacks
