Job Description

This challenging yet rewarding role requires a dedicated individual who can work effectively with students who may exhibit challenging behaviour. As an Educational Programmes Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing educational programmes that cater to the diverse needs of adult learners with special needs;
  • Collaborating with therapists, personnel from Social Services, Health, and Education to provide joint provision and support services;
  • Managing and directing teaching teams to ensure high-quality programme delivery;
  • Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, promoting equality and diversity, and adhering to the College's policies on safeguarding, equality, and health and safety;
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

  • A Certificate of Education (CertEd) or an alternative equivalent teaching qualification;
  • Level 2 Maths and English qualifications or a willingness to enrol on the internal functional skills course within the first year of employment and complete it within two years;
  • Recent Outstanding/Good teaching experience with students with special needs;
  • Able to demonstrate effective planning of educational programmes for adults with special needs;
  • Able to manage and direct teaching teams;
  • Able to communicate a commitment to the view that students with special needs can and do achieve;
