HGV Driver Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HGV driver to join our team at Class 1 Personnel. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating Heavy Goods Vehicles to complete scheduled waste collection rounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate HGVs to complete waste collection rounds in line with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, collections, and any incidents or issues encountered during shifts.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure HGVs are in good working condition, reporting any defects or required maintenance to the relevant team.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines, including safe driving practices and site procedures.
  • Assist with loading and unloading waste materials as required, ensuring efficient operation during rounds.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as an HGV driver; new drivers will not be considered.
  • Valid HGV license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle safety checks and legal driving standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints to complete rounds.
  • Punctual and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and site staff.
