Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Operations Excellence:
    • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our restaurant, ensuring that all aspects of the business are running smoothly and efficiently.
    • Ensure that customer service meets our high standards and that customer satisfaction is consistently maintained.
    • Respond promptly and efficiently to customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve the issue.
    • Enforce and maintain the highest quality of products and services possible.
    • Organize and supervise the responsibilities of team members to ensure both team and customer satisfaction.
    • Train and direct team members through strong, well-organized training to ensure great customer service.
    • Appraise personnel's performance and provide feedback to keep the team motivated and productive.
    • Maintain stock inventory and analyze consumption.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety rules and regulations.
    • Successfully promote and publicize the German Doner Kebab brand.
    • Nurture a positive working environment and lead by example.
    • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.
    • Be duty manager on a rotation basis.
    • Lead pre- and post-shift rallies with the team to communicate set targets, share feedback, and brief the team about any business-related information.
    • Take responsibility for the business performance of the front-of-house of our restaurant.
    • Ensure that all operations are carried out according to German Doner Kebab guidelines.
    • Address the root cause of related customer complaints and take action to resolve the problem.
    • Ensure that all employees adhere to the company uniform standards.
    • Meet and greet customers and organize table reservations.
    • Organize and supervise the shifts of dining and counter staff.
    • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
    • Prepare cash drawers and provide petty cash as required.
    • Help in any position when circumstances dictate.
    • Take a proactive role in encouraging teamwork, cooperation, harmony, productivity, and a positive attitude within the working environment.
    • Complete all necessary daily reports at the end of each shift.
    • Attend any training or meetings as and when required by German Doner Kebab or the Franchisee.
    • Perform any other duties as designated by the Operations Manager due to business demands.
    • Work with the General Store Manager to coordinate all aspects.
    • Monitor the stock storage areas and ensure they are neat and clean at all times.
    • Collaborate with the General Store Manager and the Store Team to ensure tight stock control and budgeted margins are achieved.
    • Fill out daily paperwork.
    • Meet and greet all customers where possible and role model exceptional guest care.
    • Lead and comply with maintaining high standards of guest care.
    • Support team colleagues at peak times and undertake any operational duty that might be reasonably required to ensure guest expectations are met.
    • Ensure that the GDK team are always well-groomed and smart ready for work.
    • At all times promote and follow legal responsibilities and requirements associated with the business.
    • Have a good working knowledge of all equipment and efficiently take care of preventative maintenance.
  • Business Relationships Within The Restaurant:
    • Store team colleagues.
    • Restaurant Management Team.
    • Guests/Delivery drivers.
    • GDK personnel.
    • Restaurant Franchisee.
  • Qualifications:

A qualified candidate for the position of Shift Leader should have outstanding interactive and communication skills and possess the enthusiasm to work with colleagues and team as a team player. In addition to these, the following qualities, skills, knowledge, and abilities are most sought:

  • Proven working experience as Supervisor/Duty Manager within the Food Industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in guest service management.
  • Extensive guest care knowledge.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills.
  • Financial management skills.
