About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated junior derivatives lawyer to join our Global Banking & Markets legal team in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our EMEA equity derivatives trading desks, providing expert advice on a broad range of equity derivative products.

Responsibilities
  • Provide regulatory, documentation, risk management, and cross-border legal advice to trading businesses
  • Analyze the legal and regulatory impacts of cross-border products, including innovative algorithmic indices, hedging and financing structures, and market access products
  • Advise on the interpretation and practical impact of regulatory reforms on the equities business
  • Assist with the structuring, negotiation, and drafting of transactional documents, including coordination with external counsel
  • Provide equity product expertise internally in the legal division and across the firm on regulatory implementation and business change projects
Requirements
  • At least 2 years post-qualification relevant experience in a law firm or in-house
  • Some derivatives experience is essential, specific equities knowledge is helpful but not a requirement
  • Familiarity with the regulations relevant to derivatives and/or equity markets
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to develop in the team, learn about our businesses, and effectively identify legal and regulatory issues
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively, be proactive in a challenging business environment, and respond to client demands in a timely manner
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, who can work successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders, including trading and sales personnel, global control functions, and legal specialists globally
