Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Lead

Job Title: Physiotherapy Team Leader - Trauma & Orthopaedics (in-patients)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Trauma and Orthopaedics Team as the Therapy Lead.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily clinical and managerial leadership of the Trauma and Orthopaedics Therapy service, which consists of a mixed team of 12 staff and includes OT, Physio, and Therapy Assistants.

The successful candidate will have clinical experience in the area of Trauma and Orthopaedics as well as relevant leadership experience.

Main Duties of the Job

As Team Leader, you will have clinical and operational responsibility for the Trauma and Orthopaedics Therapy Services.

Clinically, you will manage a small complex caseload as well as being the point of clinical excellence and development within the team.

Operationally, you will be responsible for the daily leadership and organisation of the Trauma and Orthopaedics Team, including clinical supervision, performance management, and staff appraisal.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical and team leadership with a focus on delivering a high-quality of care across the clinical areas.

You will be supported in post by the Inpatient Therapy Services Lead as well as extensive CPD training opportunities and access to organisational development and leadership development opportunities.

Person Specification

• Extensive postgraduate experience working within the relevant clinical field with a minimum 5 years' experience
• Excellent advanced knowledge of the management of relevant patient groups
• Extensive experience of working closely with MDT
• Experience of clinical education of less experienced staff (including students)
• Experience working within the NHS
• Evidence of participation in audit/research

Qualifications and Professional Training

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
• HCPC registration
• Evidence of postgraduate learning
• Membership of appropriate special interest group

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to demonstrate autonomous highly specialized clinical intervention and decision-making
• Ability to demonstrate highly specialized assessment and treatment skills for complex acute specialist patients
• Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of best practice and current research in specialist area
