Purchase Ledger Officer

Job Summary:
Kenton Black Finance is recruiting a Finance Transactions Officer on a full-time basis for 6 months to support a values-led organisation in the Burnley area.
The role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have purchase ledger experience and be proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing creditor invoices via the accounts payable system and ensuring payments are made on time.
- Performing weekly payment runs, ensuring suppliers receive payments within agreed terms.
- Managing credit and debit balances, including handling credit card top-up requests.
- Administering insurance claims and supporting the annual renewal process.
- Posting direct debit payments and housing benefit payments from councils onto our system.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and maintaining accurate financial records.
About the role:
- Purchase ledger experience required.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Familiarity with finance systems such as Open Accounts and Active H (not essential).
- Experience with sales ledger accounting processes (not essential).
