Job Title: Health Care Assistant
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our dynamic team at Church Street Medical. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our trained nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out designated tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors, providing a welcoming and non-judgmental environment.
- Undertake basic computer skills and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with NMC guidelines.
- Assist in organizing clinic appointments, sending patient letters, and recording information accurately.
- Participate in nursing audits and contribute to the development of the nursing team.
- Keep all nurses' rooms stocked with appropriate stores, maintain cleanliness, and assist with monitoring stock levels.
- Restock doctors' rooms as necessary and maintain their procedure trolleys.
- Generate and keep accurate and concise clinical records, adhering to NMC guidelines.
- Liaise effectively with other health professionals, both within and outside the organization, regarding clinical referrals.
- Communicate effectively with patients and relatives, considering differences in language, literacy, and culture.
Requirements:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to carry out designated tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate clinical records.
- Experience of working in primary care is desirable.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least an NVQ level 2.
- Must have a certificate for Phlebotomy.
