Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a packaging strategy that supports future growth, aligns with market demands, and anticipates legislative changes.
  2. Lead projects from customer brief through to production trials and launch, ensuring operational and environmental goals are met.
  3. Build relationships with packaging suppliers, ensuring materials meet all compliance requirements.
  4. Oversee supplier and material approval processes, ensuring alignment with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards.
  5. Monitor and report on packaging innovations, focusing on cost, recyclability, carbon reduction, and operational efficiency.
  6. Identify improvements to packaging formats to enhance site efficiencies and recyclability rates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in food packaging development.
  • Demonstrable experience in bringing new packaging innovations to market.
  • Recent experience working with major food retailers.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A solid understanding of packaging compliance, sustainability, and emerging market trends.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
