Transforming Healthcare through Strategic Procurement

Convatec, a leading global medical products and technologies company, is seeking a seasoned Global Category Manager - Finished Goods to drive procurement excellence and deliver value to our customers. As a key member of our Global Procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and executing a high-performance category strategy that aligns with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for finished goods medical devices, ensuring alignment with customer and business needs.
  • Manage critical relationships with suppliers to deliver optimal levels of cost management, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and suppliers to develop strategic plans and drive implementation.
  • Take ownership of the Source to Contract (S2C) process, including opportunity identification, sourcing strategy, evaluation, recommendation, and award.
  • Ensure that the supplier base supporting your category is continually assessed and developed to meet changing business/customer demands.
  • Oversee the implementation of contracts, agreements, and sourcing strategies to deliver expected value to the business.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement/sourcing, with a formal category/sourcing management process.
  • University degree in engineering, business, or economics, or a similar relevant subject.
  • Clear understanding of category management principles and ability to define a strategy and translate it into actionable plans.
  • Experience working with e-procurement tools and ability to communicate through various formats to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on meeting required targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and interpret data from various sources.
