About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Community Psychiatry team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with severe mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, working closely with a team of senior workers, community connectors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of recovery-oriented care in the community, working closely with GPs and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and education programs for junior staff and medical students.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, working closely with colleagues to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent, and full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register or Specialist Registrar within 6 months of gaining CCT.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of clinical work in General Adult Psychiatry at ST4-6 or Consultant level in the last three years.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of the application of the Mental Health Act.
