Job Title: Adult Psychiatry Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatry Consultant to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat patients with severe and enduring mental illness, including those with significant risk histories.
  • Develop and implement policies and protocols to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide teaching and supervision to undergraduate medical students, doctors in training, and multi-professional staff.
  • Contribute to clinical audit, investigating serious incidents, and handling complaints.
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
  • Experience in workplace-based assessments of doctors in training.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding practices.
