Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our Real Estate team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) specific deliverables within large projects or direct MEP commissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish early budgets, estimating, and cost planning for MEP projects
  • Manage a design team to deliver MEP projects within budget
  • Tendering and procurement, including single and two-stage tenders
  • Post-contract reporting to clients, including cost variances and change control processes
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to clients
  • Inputting into value engineering and negotiating final accounts
  • Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages
  • Leading a cost management team, ensuring delivery of key accountabilities

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) or working towards
  • Degree or HNC level qualification
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience in delivering MEP elements of work for clients
  • Knowledge and contacts within the MEP supply chain (tier 1 and below)
  • Utilizing digital software for delivery of cost management services
  • Commercially astute with good negotiation skills
  • Excellent people person and great communicator, both client-facing and team-based
