Job Overview

Our Children's Urology service is a leading provider of care for children and families affected by urological conditions. We work closely with our Bladder and Renal Specialist teams to deliver comprehensive care to our patients.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will work in the outpatient and day-unit setting to provide holistic care and diagnostic services to children with a broad spectrum of Urological and Bladder conditions. They will also work one clinical shift on the renal/urology ward per 4-week rota to maintain clinical skills and facilitate collaborative working.

The ideal candidate will have experience of conducting diagnostic tests and be able to catheterise children. They will also have the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients/clients and provide relevant advice/information to patients and relatives.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in the area supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training, and CPD
  • BSC/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience
  • Post-registration qualification in the appropriate area of speciality
  • Mentorship Course

Desirable criteria include leadership qualification (LEO) and ability to catheterise patients.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have post-registration experience within the relevant speciality and be experienced and competent in the management of patients within the speciality.
