Job Summary:

Castle Employment Agency Ltd is a leading recruitment agency seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day finances. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for bookkeeping up to trial balance, processing sales and purchase invoicing, and coordinating payment runs and credit control activities.

Responsibilities:
  1. General bookkeeping, including VAT, bank postings, and other financial transactions.
  2. Bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  3. Sales and purchase invoicing in a timely manner.
  4. Payment runs and credit control activities.
  5. Payroll duties, including RTI, pensions, and HMRC reporting.
  6. Ad-hoc office duties when needed.

Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar finance position, ideally within an SME.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, even for smaller payrolls.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team.
  • Familiarity with accountancy software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to create forecasting and projections.
  • Customer-focused and excellent communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this Bookkeeper role is £28,000 to £35,000 per annum, with 31 days holiday (including bank holidays) and Monday to Friday working hours. This is an excellent opportunity for career progression and skill development.
