Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Investment Banking Associate to join our Investment Banking team at Jefferies. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our Energy sector clients by conducting industry research, financial analysis, and preparing detailed financial models and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research on the Energy sector, including across the oil & gas value chain and energy transition.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including valuation, financial modeling, and sensitivity analysis for Energy sector companies.
  • Assist in the execution of various investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and advisory services.
  • Develop high-quality presentations and pitch materials for client meetings and internal discussions.
  • Support due diligence efforts by gathering and analyzing relevant data, coordinating with clients, and assisting in the preparation of due diligence reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications (CFA, MBA) are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or related financial services, with a focus on the Energy sector preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and FactSet.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
