Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Associate to join our Investment Banking team at Jefferies. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our Energy sector clients by conducting industry research, financial analysis, and preparing detailed financial models and presentations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough research on the Energy sector, including oil & gas, renewable energy, and utilities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.
- Perform detailed financial analysis, including valuation, financial modeling, and sensitivity analysis for Energy sector companies.
- Assist in the execution of various investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and advisory services.
- Develop high-quality presentations and pitch materials for client meetings and internal discussions.
- Support due diligence efforts by gathering and analyzing relevant data, coordinating with clients, and assisting in the preparation of due diligence reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications (CFA, MBA) are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or related financial services, with a focus on the Energy sector preferred.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and FactSet.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market information.
