Job Title: Orthoptist Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Orthoptist to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an orthoptic service in the community and hospital setting.

About the Role
  • Assess, diagnose and manage children and adult patients referred to the Orthoptic service as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research.
  • Contribute to the running of community-based clinics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose ocular motility problems in children and adults.
  • Manage children with visual impairment.
  • Contribute to the development of community-based clinics.
  • Adhere to departmental and Trust policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience as an Orthoptist.
  • Experience in specialist services, paediatrics, neurology, community, glaucoma and visual fields.
  • Ability to provide advice, training and support to junior staff, support staff and students.
