Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Stormking
Job Purpose:
The Accounts Assistant role at Stormking is a key position within the finance team, providing essential support to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes.
This role involves taking charge of the Purchase Ledger and T&A system functions, as well as providing administrative support and consolidation to the weekly stock takes. The successful candidate will also support the rest of the Finance function with other ad hoc requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for Accounts Payable function including posting purchase invoices, supplier statement recs and ensuring that suppliers are paid in a timely manner
- Maintain the company T&A system, completing weekly reports to ensure hours are correctly recorded, setting up new starters and answering employee queries
- Take responsibility for the weekly stock takes, providing the template for the stock to be recorded on and ensuring that the results are received in a timely and accurate manner, ready to present to the Buyer
- Take charge of keeping the office supplies and monitoring office supply stock levels
- Support with Accounts Receivable where required
- Support the team with phone calls and office visitors
- Agree intercompany balances and present these to the Management Accountant for approval
- Run the daily invoices/daily report when required
- Provide occasional holiday/sick cover for credit control when required
- Provide month end support where required
- Assisting with Year End Accounts and external audit where required
- Other ad hoc responsibilities as required
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish team goals and objectives
- Computer literate, including a high proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with key accounting concepts
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- High attention to detail
- Desire to learn and improve not only themselves but also current process
Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Part AAT Qualified or QBE
- Exposure to Business Central (Navision) would be advantageous
- Manufacturing Experience, particularly with regards to stock taking
- Previous Accounts Payable experience
