Strategic Category Manager

About the Role:
Henderson Brown Procurement & Supply Chain team is partnering with a leading food manufacturer to hire a Senior Commodity Manager.
This company specializes in high-quality and sustainable food products and is known for its commitment to environmental and social targets.
The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing a direct report and liaising with suppliers worldwide across volatile commodities.
They will own the ingredients category sourcing strategy and be accountable for leading the strategy to optimize growth, cost, and quality.
The successful candidate will mitigate supply failure risks and drive continuous improvement in the company's procurement processes.
This role is based near the Cambridgeshire area with a hybrid setup of on-site 3 days a week, remainder from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a strategic category management approach to optimize procurement processes.
- Lead the team to build a positive culture and development within the organization.
- Lead new procurement initiatives to deliver best-in-class results.
- Manage the commodity risk strategy and ESG/Sustainability strategy.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role with commodity category management.
- Managed a direct report and have experience with leading teams.
- Sustainability and risk management lifecycle experience.
