Job Summary:


We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Service Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and serving meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and adhering to health and safety protocols.



Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and serve meals as directed by the kitchen manager
  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, chopping, and peeling
  • Perform routine duties such as inventory management, cleaning, and sanitizing
  • Review pack-out requests for accurate amounts and prepare food for take-out
  • Ensure awareness of students' food allergies and special diets
  • Maintain clear communication with students, staff, and parents
  • Adhere to all District policies and procedures
  • Observe safety precautions and comply with health and safety rules
  • May fill in for the manager when they are absent
  • Attend staff training during the summer
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to possess a Qualified Food Operator Certificate
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to interact with all age levels
  • Basic math applications and computation skills


Benefits:


The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $20.27 per hour, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth. The work schedule is Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM-1:30 PM, with occasional flexibility required.



Working Environment:


The job requires occasional lifting up to 30 pounds, carrying, pushing, and pulling; some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; and significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity.
