About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Environmental Education Programme Lead to join our team at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education sessions to pupils from various age groups, focusing on environmental topics such as plant adaptations, evolution, conservation, ecosystems, and more.

The role involves following set lesson plans to achieve learning outcomes, supporting zero-hours teachers day-to-day, and contributing to the development of our schools programme.

This is a permanent part-time annualised hours contract based onsite at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and informative education sessions to pupils from early years to key stage 5
  • Support zero-hours teachers in their daily activities
  • Contribute to the development of our schools programme
  • Foster dialogue around sustainable lifestyles and inspire lifelong connections with nature

Requirements

  • Significant experience of teaching in a formal setting or delivering environmental education programmes
  • Ability to inspire and engage pupils and teachers with enthusiasm, passion, and a friendly manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work successfully within a team and with external stakeholders
