About the Role

The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join their radiology research team. As a Radiography Research Specialist, you will play a key part in the coordination of research activities, delivering research in terms of participant recruitment, image acquisition, data collection, and stakeholder engagement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact within the department regarding audit and research issues.
  • Contribute towards the implementation and development of quality assurance programmes, including departmental audit.
  • Contribute towards the development of departmental policies and protocols.
  • Set up and maintain study site files.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Awareness of the changing demands on the health service.
  • Knowledge of current issues in health research.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of, or interest in, research projects.
  • Knowledge of ethical and governance issues pertaining to research.
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, teaching.
  • Knowledge of appraisal/staff development programmes.
  • Knowledge of relevant radiation safety regulations and relevant protocols.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Radiography or relevant health science degree.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development appropriate to the post.

Desirable

  • Masters degree or evidence of recent postgraduate study in a health-related subject.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a UK Imaging department.
  • Experience of undertaking audit and evidence-based evaluation.
  • Experience of complex clinical situations.
  • Evidence of conducting audits within the NHS or equivalent organisation.

Desirable

  • Experience in the development of and/or participation in research projects.
  • Evidence of contribution towards managing resources.
  • Experience of writing for publication.
