Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Control Surveyor to join our team at ersg Ltd.

The successful candidate will provide expert advice and support in building control matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering high-quality services to clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership in building control for complex projects
  • Offering expert advice and support in areas where building regulations may not apply
  • Supporting quality management initiatives and business development

Principal Accountabilities

  • Delivering building control services for a range of projects or work packages in complex environments
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders to ensure service standards are maintained and projects are delivered in compliance with building regulations
  • Assessing levels of compliance for relevant projects and permitting or refusing handover as appropriate
  • Operating in accordance with RBCA and RBI licence obligations
  • Ensuring building control activities meet prescribed performance standards and comply with internal ISO 9001 Quality Management processes and systems
  • Providing mentoring and support to less experienced team members

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A current licence as a Registered Building Inspector at Class 3G or 3H level (Class 2F considered)
  • A degree in building control or a related construction discipline
  • Full membership of a relevant professional institution (such as RICS, CABE, CIOB or CIBSE)

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of building control in multi-tenanted commercial buildings, including fire engineered solutions
  • Experience of Quality Management Systems and Quality Improvement

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
