Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable and empathetic Transportation Support Specialist to join our team at Pertemps Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting children with additional support needs during their daily journeys to and from school.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Support: Provide supportive supervision to children during their journey, promoting a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the driver, school staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and address individual child needs.
  • Mobility Assistance: Safely assist children with mobility aids or specialized equipment, prioritizing their comfort and well-being.
  • Personalised Support: Deliver tailored support based on each child's unique requirements, including assistance with seat belts, reassurance, and sensitive management of special needs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Compassion and Empathy: A genuine desire to help children with additional support needs is essential.
  • Previous Experience: While experience in a similar role is preferred, it is not mandatory.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication skills are required to interact with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Reliability: Consistency and punctuality are critical in building trust with children and families.

Salary and Benefits:

A competitive salary of £22,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a supportive work environment that values your commitment to supporting children with additional needs.
