About the Role

Care New England Health System is seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Professional to join its team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Obtain blood samples from patients using various phlebotomy techniques, including venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks, while adhering to strict aseptic protocols.
  2. Accurately enter patient information into the hospital's information system, ensuring that demographic and insurance details are up-to-date and verified.
  3. Prioritize and organize phlebotomy workload to meet deadlines and ensure timely results for healthcare providers.
  4. Process test orders on the computer and communicate with physicians regarding test requests when necessary.
  5. Manage and process patient scripts and insurance information, preparing reports for delivery to healthcare professionals as needed.
  6. Ensure the integrity of specimens by preparing them for courier pickup or delivering them to the relevant department.
  7. Maintain a well-stocked supply of essential materials to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service.
  8. Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of phlebotomy workspaces, equipment, and carts according to established protocols.
  9. Support new employee training and perform phlebotomy duties at designated locations as directed by management.
Qualifications:

A high school diploma and a minimum of six months of job-related experience or equivalent are required. Additionally, all employees hired after 2012 must possess phlebotomy certification.
