Role Overview

Kent County Council's Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Service is seeking a skilled Senior Practitioner to join our team. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and provide support to ensure their voice is heard.
  • Manage a complex caseload and supervise social worker assistants.
  • Act as a duty senior to enhance your management skills and develop skills in age assessments, working with children in care, and interagency working.

What We Offer

  • Competitive basic salary between £43,810 and £49,989, with the potential to earn up to £61,489 per year when market premiums are applied.
  • Annual Leave allowance of 29 to 30 days, plus bank holidays and an extra day off at Christmas.
  • Up to £2,000 car market premium, £3,000 annual market premium, and £3,000 golden hello payment.
  • Relocation packages up to £8,000 and an excellent local government pension scheme.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service.
