Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Copello Global has partnered with a reputable defence engineering business in the UK to fill the role of Procurement Specialist. Eligibility for SC Clearance is required.

This position involves identifying and selecting suitable suppliers/partners for material and equipment supply to customer-related projects. Key responsibilities include managing supplier performance, reviewing technical specifications, negotiating contracts, maintaining supply data, participating in supplier audits, securing supplier capacity, analysing spend and supplier performance data, and contributing to project reviews.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in buying and sourcing within manufacturing, strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, and critical path management skills. They should also possess a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in project procurement.

A salary range of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum is estimated for this position, depending on qualifications and experience.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify and select suitable suppliers/partners for material and equipment supply to customer-related projects.
  • Manage and/or develop supplier performance to meet targets for quality, delivery time, cost, and lead time.
  • Review and verify technical specifications and requirements as the basis for request for quotations in line with project needs.
  • Negotiate, create, and maintain supply contracts with suppliers. Communicate results to internal project stakeholders.
  • Maintain supply data in relevant systems within defined areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in or execute supplier audits and follow up on audit action plans.
  • Secure supplier capacity to meet future demands.
  • Analyse spend and supplier performance data, and execute benchmarking to continuously improve supplier performance.
  • Contribute to project reviews, input to project plans, timelines, and costs. Supply and maintain supplier metrics and supply KPIs for projects.
