About the Role

The Deputy Team Manager position at Essex County Council presents a unique opportunity for experienced social workers and occupational therapists to specialise in social care management. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about development and committed to improving the quality of delivery.

As a Deputy Team Manager, you will support the Team Manager in achieving positive change and contribute to the development of practice, skills, and knowledge within the team. You will also represent the team in various meetings, collaborating with healthcare professionals and care providers to ensure adults receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to a team of professionals to deliver a high-quality service with positive outcomes.
  • Support the development of individuals within the team.
  • Deliver expertise and professional knowledge to provide advice and guidance for complex cases.
  • Implement effective approaches to integrated working with partners, communities, and the voluntary sector.
About You

We are looking for individuals with strong leadership and behavioural skills, experience of working in a social care setting, and the ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community. You will also bring evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.

As a Deputy Team Manager, you will be responsible for allocating cases to social workers and community support workers, deputising for the Team Manager, and attending various meetings. You will also be expected to supervise some of the workers in the team and manage information and statistical data.
