Senior Materials Engineer Position

About the Job

We are seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to join our team at First Recruitment Group. Based in either Central London or Milton Keynes, this role offers a hybrid working setup of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week from home.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of material types, materials selection, corrosion assessment, and materials performance assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project engineering documents such as Material Selection Diagrams, Material Selection reports, Paint and lining specifications, insulation specifications, welding specifications.
  • Undertake materials and corrosion-related project activities, applying expertise to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare engineering studies, taking responsibility for their successful execution.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a degree in Materials Engineering with professional status (or working towards).
  • Strong understanding of material types, materials selection, corrosion assessment, and materials performance assessment.
  • Understanding of paint and lining systems, insulation selection and welding of pressure components.
  • Capability to work independently in a team environment and manage multiple project responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to constant improvement in engineering activities across diverse geographic, technical, and cultural contexts.
  • Familiarity with the application and maintenance of engineering processes, systems, and tools (software).
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Full command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
